Workshop 1 – Leading at your best - bookings closed

Thursday 09 May 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

School leadership is not easy at the best of times and thus being able to maintain our personal resilience and resourcefulness even at times of pressure and uncertainty, is a vital capability. In this session we will explore what stops us (and others) from being at our best as a leader and explore the beliefs, patterns, and qualities within us that drive these reactions, so that we can more readily return to great, authentic leadership.

In this session we will cover:

How to recognise when we are not at our best and the impact this has on our leadership.

Understanding the 'mindtraps' that commonly derail us and what triggers these.

Discovering strategies and tools for managing our state and supporting others to regain their resourcefulness.

Workshop 2 – Navigating difficult conversations

Thursday 04 July 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

For many in a school leadership role, certain conversations can feel particularly daunting and difficult – whether these are discussing performance issues with a colleague, debating a difference of opinion with a firm-minded governor, or needing to respond to a demanding parent. In this session we will introduce a simple, yet powerful and practical framework that can be applied to all conversations, including the ‘difficult’ ones, to help you build genuine two-way dialogue – creating transparent, powerful interactions which drive better outcomes.

In this session we will cover:

The foundations of a Powerful Conversation and how to build and maintain trust and safety.

Listening techniques and questioning strategies to build stronger connections.

Understand power dynamics and how to leverage your authentic power to manage difficult conversations more confidently.

Workshop 3 – Leading with authenticity and confidence

Thursday 19 September from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Even the most experienced leaders will lack confidence at times and experience what’s known as the ‘imposter syndrome’. While this is very natural, lack of confidence is a mindset and not a reflection of ability, outcomes or success. During this session we will help you to use this insight to build a more confident mindset – enabling you to project authentic confidence and authority when you find yourself in critical situations.

In this session we will cover:

Understanding power dynamics and your own personal relationship to power.

The four sources of confidence and how to leverage your own authentic power to communicate with confidence and assertion.

Why showing up as your whole self makes you a more effective leader.

Workshop 4 – Developing your coaching skills

Thursday 05 December 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Many of us progress to leadership roles by becoming experts and exceeding expectations, but to help others develop and achieve, we must shift our focus from being problem-solvers and decision-makers, to being leaders who empower and coach our teams to succeed. We need to be able to instil ownership and accountability in others as well as in ourselves, and enable them to unlock their full potential and solve problems for themselves.

In this session we will cover:

How to adopt a coaching mindset and build your own confidence as a coach.

Using coaching skills to enhance the quality of your daily conversations.

Recognising your natural coaching style and how you can flex this to best meet the needs of the individual and the situation.
