Heads Rising

The full programme comprises 38 hours of individual coaching, group learning and school visits, scheduled over a ten-month period as follows:

  • 1 hour virtual induction session
  • 3 x in-person workshops (whole cohort – up to 24)
  • 3 x virtual group coaching sessions (2 hours) in groups of 6
  • 3 x virtual 1:1 coaching (60 mins)
  • 3 school visits (3-4 hours) including action learning sets (groups of 12)
  • End of programme social event (optional)

Where possible, participants will be grouped by phase in coaching groups and action learning sets.

If desired, six leaders from a single trust can work together as a single coaching group.

All workshops will take place at the BTS head office, 1 Queen Caroline Street, Hammersmith, London W6 9YN

School visits will take place in the Midlands and South Central England.

Programme Cost

  • £1,665 + VAT per person
  • 10% discount for 2 or more people from the same school or trust (£1,495 + VAT)

Places will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Our programme coaches and facilitators

Catherine Bailhache

Educational Consultant / Facilitator

Catherine is an educational consultant and leadership coach, partnering with schools and trusts to develop strategy and improve team performance. She co-founded and led Jubilee Networks, a regional headteacher network for leadership development and school improvement. As the former Director of Partnership at Challenge Partners, she oversaw the growth and development of operations and programmes. With 20 years of experience in strategic partnerships and networks in the sustainability and education sectors, Catherine holds an MPhil in International Development and is an accredited facilitator and ILM Level 5 coach. She also serves as a Trustee and Vice-Chair of Mosaic Partnership Trust

Kevin Whichello

Facilitator / Coach

Kevin is a highly skilled leadership coach and facilitator with well over a decade's experience of supporting leaders at all levels across the education system, including many headteachers and principals. He has particular expertise in supporting individuals to develop the skills and awareness to successfully make key step changes in their leadership. With a background in the business sector, and a psychology degree, Kevin has a diploma in executive coaching and is a certified group facilitator.

Louise Norris

Facilitator / Coach

Louise spent 20 years working in education, with roles including two successful headships, before becoming a full-time leadership coach, and facilitator. With a background in psychology, Louise brings a powerful blend of theoretical knowledge and personal understanding of the issues and challenges of headship. Louise coaches multiple headteachers, works regularly with aspiring leaders, and facilitates group sessions for new headteachers in Wiltshire. Louise is an Associate Certified Coach and has a Post-Graduate Certificate in Business and Personal Coaching.
